The dreaded pumpkin costume. Don’t look at me that way. Yeah, you and I both know we’ve all experienced that one costume mommy just had to deck us out in. Mine was THE PUMPKIN.
Besides the eighties style brown, shag carpet and beige, leafy crap called wall paper I held my head high and accepted my fate…I was a damn pumpkin, again. For some apparent reason ( only the gods will know) my mother dreamed of her little girl dressed head to toe in orange. And god, orange is so not my color. But when Halloween is concerned there’s always an end game, and even though I so wanted to be Snow White or the Wicked Witch of the West…my orange pumpkin belly SCREAMED “trick-r-treat give me some chocolate”.
